ABOUT ABOUT

To do our part in the fight against social injustice, the Hike Hive will be hosting the 2nd Annual Silent Hike Protest to amplify the Black Lives Matter initiative. Last year, we thought it would be the perfect way to celebrate Juneteenth & show up as a connected community. The hike loop will take place on Forbidden Drive from Cedar's House to the Thomas Mill Covered Bridge. This is a flat, multi-use gravel path that parallels the Wissahickon Creek spanning the entire length of the park.

In order to participate in the Hike Protest, you must register and wear all black everything (tops & bottoms). WEARING ALL BLACK SHOWS SOLIDARITY AND UNITY. PLEASE RESPECT THIS REQUIREMENT!!!

This year, we are celebrating liberation, life and solidarity with a closing Afrovibes class led by dance and mindfulness facilitator, Rasaq Lawal. We will tap into our magic within as we move our bodies, clear our minds and free our spirits. Joy is a revolutionary act, so as we laugh, dance and play we give our brothers and sisters permission to do the same.
