Join us for an evening of recognition, restoration + liberation. In support of the fight against social injustice, the Hike Hive will be hosting our 4th Annual Hike Protest to amplify the voices of those that often go unheard and/or ignored. Each year we gather to celebrate Juneteenth and show up as a unified community to hike, heal, and connect.
This year's 2 mile urban hike will take place on MLK Drive from the Azaela Garden. This is a flat, multi-use paved path welcoming beginners and strollers! **please note that the healing hike is a symoblic protest, we will not be protesting***
We are celebrating liberation, life and solidarity with a closing Afrvbz wellness class led by dance and mindfulness facilitator, Rasaq Lawal. We will tap into our magic within as we move our bodies, clear our minds and free our spirits. Joy is a revolutionary act, so as we laugh, dance and play we give our brothers and sisters permission to do the same. UHURU
This is a family friendly event and open to ALL !!!
PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS: In order to participate in the Hike Protest, you must register each attendee, including children that are not in a stroller or strapped via carrier/wrap onto parent/guardian. Additionally, you must wear ALL BLACK everything (tops & bottoms; black sneakers are not required). WEARING ALL BLACK SHOWS SOLIDARITY AND UNITY.
